Worship Festival Calendar
We follow a rarely used Christian Worship Festival Calendar - one that dates back to the first apostles, to Jesus Christ and revealed to His people in the First (Old) Testament. These are the ancient Festivals given to His covenant people, Israel, but which find their true fulfillment in Jesus Christ - past, present and many of them in the future with His Return and establishment of the complete reality of His Kingdom for all of the world.
01
The Lord's Passover
The Passover - Pascha or Pesach as it is still named throughout the Eastern Christian churches and languages - was instituted by God, fulfilled in Jesus Christ and celebrated by the early church for many hundreds of years on the original date which reflected the true timing of the Lord's death and then resurrection.
02
The Festival of Unleavened Bread
The Passover is the commencement of the season of the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The entire season is often just simply called "Passover" season. The Unleavened Bread was labeled by Christ as representing his own body and life and is commemorated in the symbols of the New Covenant. Many members commence the Festival with an evening meal with family and guests remembering the stories of God's salvation. The complete Festival lasts 7 days, encompassing the remembrance of Christ's Crucifixion, Resurrection and appearance to his disciples. The symbols are remembered as a gentle and memorable reminder for families throughout the season.
03
Pentecost
Held 50 days after the end of the first Sabbath (Saturday) during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. This is the anniversary of the giving of the Holy Spirit to the disciples at the true commencement of the Church, as recorded happening on this day in the Book of Acts.
04
The Feast of Trumpets
An ancient memorial of the blowing of Trumpets, this Festival is understood as a "memorial in advance" regarding The Second Coming of Jesus Christ, who will return with a mighty trumpet blast as He predicted, recorded in the Gospels and in the Book of Revelation. Intriguingly, there are indications it may also be around the birth-time of Jesus Christ.
05
The Day of Atonement
Traditionally a fast day, which reminds one of one's need to approach God through his absolute grace and not one's own works, this day reminds us of Christ's full atonement for the state of the world at His Return, the removal of sin and the reconciliation of the world to God at that time.
06
The Feast of Tabernacles
An amazing 7 days of celebration, anciently commanded by God as a time to enjoy a full tenth of one's annual wealth over the course of a week, this Festival pictures God's kingdom dwelling - tabernacling - on earth during the reign of His Kingdom. It's a time for extreme gratitude, worship and great enjoyment as a church family as we envision the full Kingdom of God prophesied by Christ and pictured in the Book of Revelation.
We run an annual multi-church, unaffiliated Feast of Tabernacles in Western Australia every year. Find out more or register at www.feastwa.org
07
The Last Great Day
The 8th Day, appended to the Feast of Tabernacles. This is the day on which Jesus stood before the crowd in the Temple in Jerusalem - "The Last Great Day" - and declared that all should come to Him so that they may have the waters of life flowing freely from them. Reiterated in the Book of Revelation, through this Day we also picture the Great Judgement of all mankind to be conducted by God the Father and Jesus Christ - the 'Final Judgement' believed by all Christians, the culmination of God's plan for humanity, and the commencement of all eternity as He embarks on restoring a whole new universe.
