Christian Feast of Tabernacles 2025

Writer: Peter McLeanPeter McLean

In 2025, we will once again be holding our annual Festival (Feast) of Tabernacles at Mandurah Offshore Fishing & Sailing Club, Western Australia, from October 7-14.

Why Should Christians Celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles?

Many Christians wonder what relevance the Feast of Tabernacles has to them. That's no wonder, given that most churches actively ignore or even teach against the Feast. Why do they do that? Because it's in the Old Testament.

But we know, as Christians, that the Old Testament was inspired by Jesus Christ, is given to us for our benefit and teaching (Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17) and points in all of its details to the fulfilment in Christ (see Luke 24:27) - not only regarding His First Coming, but regarding His Second Coming and the establishment of His Kingdom.

Christ pointed to both the present fulfilment and future reality of the Feast of Tabernacles when he stood up at the Temple to teach during the Feast (John 7:1-19) and proclaimed the promise of Living Waters. There are MANY events in the Gospels that centre on the Feast of Tabernacles (and the other Biblical Festivals) that cannot be fully understood without studying these Feasts. And the Feasts represent so much more than what just happened in the past.

As we state in our upcoming booklet about the Biblical Festivals for Christians:

"The great prophet Zechariah foretold that after the return of the Messiah, ALL nations will be required to send representatives to Jerusalem to keep the Feast Of Tabernacles (Zechariah 14:16-19). There is no doubt that this season will be on everyone’s liturgical calendar in the future!"

Through these and other Scriptures, we can see the great Plan of Salvation that God had made through Christ is pictured and represented in the Feast of Tabernacles. Even a number of the ceremonies that were practised under the Old Covenant, such as the water ceremony and the light ceremony, picture Christ's promise and fulfilment (see John 7 and Revelation 22:1-5).

So why is the Feast relevant to New Covenant Christians? Because it is all about Jesus Christ and The Kingdom of God. It points to the Father Almighty's marvellous plan where Jesus Christ will reign on the earth as He brings the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.

This is a tremendous truth obscured by most teaching and doctrine of mainstream churches. But to those who have come to understand the plan of God, there is no better reminder - and no greater celebration! - than the incredible 7 days of the Festival, followed by the 8th Day which points to the Final Judgment and an eternity with God!

Join Us!

We hope you will join us for our worship services, sermons, fun and joyful celebration before the King of Kings, as we hear from God's Word and follow Him at this amazing time.

All are welcome! You don't have to come from a church or tradition that celebrates these Festivals already. Join us if you feel moved to do so.

Just register here at our dedicated Festival site to let us know you're coming. You'll find a full schedule of services and planned activities at the site.

Our Worship Services

We hold "regular" Christian Worship services. We don't conduct our services as though there are priests with Old Covenant rituals and the use of Hebrew (although you might find the original Hebrew or Greek texts referred to during the sermons).

All services are held in English and are like those you might encounter at any Evangelical/Baptist or Reformed church. You'll find a description of the service format here.

We don't have super-loud music and flashing lights. We use contemporary hymns and musical stylings, chosen especially for their relevance, "singability" and for being in agreement with Scripture.

As a policy, we do not "speak in tongues", make "prophetic speakings" or engage in other charismatic practices. If that is your practice, we request that you respect our policy and do not engage in those at our services. You are, of course, still absolutely invited to join with us :)

What we do practice is centering everything on the Word of God, praying for the Holy Spirit to inspire all of the speaking, our services and our fellowship with one another. Thus, there is always a beautiful atmosphere of love in Christ at the Festival.

Book Early

Please note that this year, the Festival will fall during Western Australia's regular School Holidays. Mandurah is very popular during this time of year, so we suggest booking early.
